Papers, 1863-1910, including letters, an invitation, and accounts of service in the CSA Army, make up this collection. Of particular interest is the 1863 Jan. 18 and 25 letter from Frederick Mitchell Jackson, Murfreesboro, Tenn., to his wife in Ala. In the letter Jackson discusses the Battle of Murfreesboro and Nashville, and Gen. Joseph Wheeler's tactics during the campaign. Also of interest are an 1898 July 14 letter from Senator John Morgan to R. D. Jackson discussing the Nicaragua Canal, and the annexation of Hawaii; and the 1904 May 13 letter from Walter Hines Page in Englwood, N.J., to Mrs. Jackson, in Birmingham, Ala., regarding her hospitality to "Yankees". The manuscript "My War Record" discusses the service of R. D. Jackson under John T. Morgan in the Civil War. Jackson was a surgeon in the regiment, which saw duty primarily in Tenn., Ala., and Ga. He also wrote an Account of General Forrest's Last Fight in 1910.
